Happy Birthday Rye!

Source: Google logo for 2/14/14

On the very day one year ago, I added Rye to the CreativePetz family! He's grown so much in the past year and it's hard to even remember the shy, little Rye that soon fit into the family with his big and bold personality.

I know I didn't make a post for the birthday of the other pets, but since Rye's fell on a Tuesday, I decided to make this my blog post of the week.

Don't forget to follow me on Pinterest! I'm only a few followers away from 300!

Love you, Rye!

Cute + Inexpensive Ways To Decorate Your Room

Spring is right around the corner, so why not spice up our rooms a bit?

First of all, clean your room! Decorations won't do anything to a dirty room, so why not tidy up a bit?

The first DIY is this cute heart wall decoration.

You will need:
  • Plain Printer Paper
  • A Pencil Or Pen
  • Scissors
  • Scrapbooking Paper
1. Gather all of your materials.
2. Fold the printer paper in half.
3. Draw half of a heart and cut out both sides.
4. Then open up the slit of paper to get a full heart.
5. Trace the heart onto your scrapbooking paper.
6. Keep tracing until you have the amount you desire.
7. Tape them into any shape on any wall in your room.

The next thing is to add a cute lamp or change the light in your room. I got my flower light from Ikea.

Another good idea would be to add a pop of color to your bed. A few colorful throw pillows or a blanket should work.

Now your room should be a bit more colorful than it originally was. I hope you try this out!

DIY Nutella Hot Chocolate

It's been pretty chilly were I live, so I drink hot chocolate pretty often. I also love nutella, so what could be better than the two combined?

You Will Need:
  • A Pot (Any size will work)
  • Milk or Water
  • Nutella

1. Measure a mug full of milk or water and pour it into the pot.
2. Take a spoonful or so of nutella and add it in to the milk/water. *The more nutella you add, the more chocolate is in the drink*
3. Put the pot onto the stove on medium heat.
4. Take a whisk and stir the mix together until the nutella mixes in with the milk.
5. Let the mix sit on the stove until it is warm enough to your liking.
6. Pour into a mug and enjoy! (Make sure you let it cool off before drinking it!)

I hope you enjoyed this simple and easy DIY! Happy Valentine's day! <3

Love Yourself

Valentine's day is just a few days away. Some people will be excited for this special day; others have been dreading it for months. Wether you have a Valentine or not, I have a job for you: this Friday, February 14, love yourself.

It seems like loving yourself can be hard anymore. I know too many people who are way too insecure about things that aren't that big of a deal. I see too many people saying that they are dumb and ugly. Everyone has at least one thing that makes them beautiful.

I challenge you to look at yourself as the amazing person you are. You are smart. You are beautiful, no matter what anyone says. There are people who want to be you. They want to have your life. The fact that you are reading this means that you have internet, so you are luckier than others. Some don't even have a life as great and wonderful as yours. Embrace it while you can.

Loving yourself also means accepting that everyone is unique. I used to worry about what people thought about me. But in the end, it doesn't matter at all. When we don't accept our unique personality and try to be just like everyone else, we miss out on that opportunity that "wasn't cool" for you to do.

"Why are you trying so hard to fit in when you were born to stand out?"
- Ian Wallace

I challenge you to try this not only on Valentine's day, but every other day in the year. It really makes a difference in your life.

In honor of Valentine's day, I will be posting not one, but two entries this week! Be expecting an extra special post this Friday!

February Blogging

It's a new month, so that means new blog posts! Every Tuesday I plan on posting something new, like I have been doing since the end of December. This month I plan on:

  • Taking more photos of the pets
  • More Rainbow Loom tutorials
  • Lots of DIY
  • Outfits Ideas
  • Hauls

Don't worry, I'll have more ideas as the month goes by. This month I will be blogging about one of my favorite foods. What do you think it is?
